About us

Bobohizan Press

who are we

No, we are not Bobohizans. Bobohizan Press comprise of a group of like-minded individuals with a single aim in mind – to use satire to educate, criticise and hopefully correct social and political malaise afflicting our nation as we know it. We come from different backgrounds and professions. We do not have any official political allegiance nor do we have any affiliations whatsoever.

Our allegiance and loyalty are for our Sabahan folks and Sabah itself.

what is a satire

Satire is best defined as the use of humour, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people’s stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues.

The reports and news found herein are mostly satirical in nature and are meant to be digested with common sense and context. It should not be swallowed whole and taken as gospel truth because in so doing, you’ll risk yourself for being the joke of the century.

We no longer use satire as much in Bobohizan Press because we think that it may confuse people despite pre-warning. Satire really is quite new in Sabah unlike countries in Europe and North America.

promote racism

In short, no. We do not and we do not condone such heinous acts. Sensitive issues such as, but not limited to: religion, racism, and sex should be discussed to the minimum. Inflammatory remarks, ones that would incite hatred and racial conflicts should be avoided.

Despite that we do encourage healthy debates on social injustice, corrupt system, nauseating political practices, and religious extremism. We also have a special dear spot for a clearly retarded and idiotic individual, which we will pursue with zeal.
